Sok-Ho Trinh (郑少聪) – Performer, Actor, and Baritenor Singer-Songwriter
Sok-Ho Trinh (郑少聪) is a British-French octolingual stage performer, actor, and baritenor singer-songwriter with a passion for storytelling through music and theatre. Having performed internationally in musicals, concerts, and theatre productions, he blends his artistry with his background as a Doctor in Psychology, deepening his ability to embody characters with emotional authenticity.
Beyond performance, Sok-Ho conceptualised, produced, and hosted Emerging Artists, by The Singing Dr., a live music show showcasing emerging talents and featuring guest artists—friends and fellow musicians who share his passion for music on stage.
Born in Paris to Chinese parents who survived the Cambodian genocide, Sok-Ho discovered his love for music at 10. He performed in Parisian venues before joining the revival of a French musical and later toured in a Mexican musical in Mexico. His artistic journey took him through Shanghai, Madrid, and London, where he trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and London College of Music among others. He has performed at Alexandra Palace, The Bread & Roses Theatre, Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club, Troxy, The Other Palace, Birmingham Hippodrome, and New Theatre Royal Portsmouth.
Theatre & On-Screen Work
Sok-Ho has played lead and featured roles across stage and screen, exploring stories that blend emotional depth with cultural resonance. His stage credits include Follow the Light, in which he portrayed Ming (directed by Jonathan Man, concept by Ruth Chan), It Tastes Like Home as Jian (directed by Roman Berry), Pearl and Dagger as Samurai Master Shima (directed by Yojiro Ichikawa), and the revival of The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Brad Majors (directed by Scott Le Crass). He has also participated in theatre workshops with The National Theatre, Yellow Earth Theatre, and the West End’s Showstopper! The Improvised Musical.
He has recently debuted the roles of Lord Jia and the Doctor in the new musical Caged Sisters, performed at both the Phoenix Arts Club and the Bridewell Theatre in the City of London.
On screen, Sok-Ho made his national television debut as Sol in the critically acclaimed BBC drama Boiling Point, a continuation of the BAFTA-nominated feature film by Philip Barantini and James Cummings. His short film work includes The Last Game, in which he plays John Wu, the lead; A Hundred Thousand Whys as Cong; MISS Canton as the Uncle; and TAKEOUT as Dave, the lead role — a film selected for both NewFilmmakers New York and the London Lift-Off Film Festival.
In several of these productions, Sok-Ho’s mastery of multiple languages, including Mandarin, Cantonese, Teochew, French, and Spanish, allowed him to bring cultural authenticity and linguistic nuance to diverse and multilingual characters.
Beyond narrative work, Sok-Ho has also featured in global commercial campaigns for major brands including AXA, American Express, British Airways, GSK, Unilever, and Coca-Cola.
Music & Research in the Arts
As a recording artist, Sok-Ho released his EP La Vie and continues to collaborate with songwriters, composers, and musicians from France, Hong Kong, Greece, the UK, and beyond on his albums and upcoming music projects.
His background in psychology fuels his research on well-being in the performing arts, particularly the impact of music and emotions on mental health. He is currently developing a concept album and research-based theatrical production, integrating scientific insights into artistic expression to create a transformative experience for audiences.
Training
Sok-Ho trained as an actor, performer, and musician across London, Paris, and Mexico. His formal training includes a Diploma in Acting from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, a Stage Combat Standard Level Certification in unarmed combat through the British Academy of Dramatic Combat and an MMus Performance in Music at the London College of Music. Critical Acclaim
“The stand-out performance however came from Sok-Ho Trinh, who portrayed Master Shima. Trinh had so much passion — his performance, and the affection he conveyed through his portrayal of a concerned father, was genuinely believable. Beyond this, he was also an outstanding singer, demonstrating strong vocals throughout.”

“This musical is acted out by an enthusiastic octet of actors, including … Sok-Ho Trinh. This acting troupe has strong chemistry and camaraderie with each other. It is clear they have worked hard to bring these infamous characters to light in a layered and dynamic form. They are very fun to watch and are one of the strongest elements of this musical. The songs are another brilliant highlight of this show as well. The melodies are beautifully sung and harmonise so well that I had permanent chills throughout. I was especially impressed by the solos of the different characters.”
